Creative Action, Changing Lives Theater Commission!

Black Collar Party member Arlo was commissioned to create a large-scale theatrical backdrop for an annual play performed by Shenandoah through Creative Action’s Changing Lives teen program. As a former participant in Creative Action’s teen programs, Arlo brought a personal connection to the project, drawing from her experiences as a young artist, her college education, and her professional artistic practice. The ambitious commission transformed a doodle originally sketched on a napkin into a 15 by 20-foot canvas backdrop, incorporating visual themes from the production. The project highlighted Arlo’s artistic development while demonstrating how youth arts education can inspire future creative opportunities and professional collaboration.
